Custom Domain

Configuring a custom domain enables you to host the documentation you create with Doxify directly on your domain. This process is straightforward, requiring only a few simple steps to complete.

The Custom Domain feature is available for Standard and Premium accounts only.

Dashboard configuration

To configure your custom domain, begin by clicking on the settings button located in the upper right corner of your dashboard. Access the project settings and navigate to the "custom domain" tab. Here, you can add the subdomain where you intend to host your documentation. For instance, you might choose something like docs.yourdomain.com.

Setting up a CNAME record to link your subdomain

Access Your DNS Management Dashboard: Start by logging in to your domain registrar's website and navigating to the DNS Settings section, typically located under the Domains tab.

Add a New CNAME Record: Within your DNS management dashboard, locate the option to add a new record.

Configure the CNAME Record: Input your desired subdomain in the Host or Name field and enter the same subdomain you have specified in Doxify in the Value or Points to field.

After saving, allow time for DNS propagation. Then, check your subdomain to ensure it redirects correctly. If any issues arise, review the CNAME entry for errors and troubleshoot as needed.
